Grammar Tips:

Unlike English, which has definite and indefinite articles, there are no articles in Latvian. Ending of the noun serves for defining of the gender. Feminine nouns end with a vowel (-a or –e) and masculine nouns usually end with a consonant (-s). Example:  Upe (river), skola (school) and suns (dog).
